Prof. Eva Kiousi

I am bilingual Greek/ English MD, certified Nephrologist. I started out as a health professional taking an undergraduate course in Nursing in University of Athens ( UOA) and worked as a nurse in Cardiothorasic ICU in Onasseio Hospital in Athens. I then took entry exams for Undergraduate studies in Medicine at the University of Crete where I began training in 2004. Simultaneously, in 2002, I succeeded in entry exams for a Msc in Epidemiology/ Public Health/ Homecare in Athens University (UOA).I attained my Msc degree in 2004. Started my medical specialist training in french speaking Switzerland where I trained in Internal medicine, Endocrinology and Nephrology hence gaining great interest in the latter. I continued my training in Athens Evaggelismos Hospital in Internal Medicine. A year later I moved on to Aretaieio Hospital for training in the fields of hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, outpatient clinic services and plasma exchange therapy. I continued training in clinical nephrology in Gennimatas Hospital and cocluded my training in Peritoneal dialysis in Amalia-Fleming Hospital. Finally, I trained in transplantation techniques and post transplantation follow up in Laiko Hospital attaining a specialist title in Nephrology in April 2019. For 5.5 years I was full-time employed in a dialysis private unit until February 2026. Since October 2021 I have my own private practice which is my current post. My special interest is slowing progression of CKD with dietitic interventions for every CKD stage and promptly diagnosing CKD patients. I enjoy interacting with members of a team, I believe diversity is almost always an asset and I strongly believe in protocol and continuous training. Achieving milestones is important,as well as productive interpersonal communication. I stride in providing solid and holistic care with a humain and caring manner.
