I have completed my MD (Medicine) in 1984 and thereafter joined the Indian Navy. After working as a physician for almost 9 years, I did my DM(Nephrology) from PGIMER Chandigarh from Dec ’93-95 and subsequently, in 2008, I did a Fellowship of International Society of Nephrology at UCSD Medical Center, San Diego for training in Intensive care Nephrology and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. I have been a recognized lecturer at PGIMER during my senior residency from Jan 94-96. I have been a teacher for 16 years at INHS Asvini, Mumbai – an institute for post-graduate studies, under Maharashtra University of Medical Sciences, and also guided 9 candidates for MD (Medicine) and One for DNB (Medicine). In addition, I am also a recognized examiner for DNB (Nephrology). INHS Asvini is an 850 bedded super-specialty hospital and I have been a Consultant Nephrologist in this hospital providing comprehensive renal care including renal transplantation. During this period, I have been personally involved with more than 250 renal transplants. I have also been involved in research since 1981 and have been a Senior Research Fellow, Indian Council of Medical Research during my post-graduation and worked on T-Lymphopenia in brochial asthma which was highly appreciated at APICON 1984. At INHS Asvini, I have been the principal investigator on nine different projects under Armed Forces Medical Research Council and have been published in various journals. Most of all, I am a committed professional with the skills and attributes the job requires, and a strong determination to achieve an excellent outcome for my students and patients.
