Dr. Sunita Bavanandan

Physician since 1997, Nephrologist since the year 2000, with special interest and experience in management of Chronic Kidney disease, Diabetes & Hypertension as well as Peritoneal dialysis and Haemodialysis. Involved in administrative work as Head of the Department of Nephrology Hospital Kuala Lumpur 2018-March 2025, and Head of Nephrology subspecialty services in the Malaysian Ministry of Health 2022-March 2025. Enjoys participation in research activities, be it in local or multinational investigator -initiated or industry-sponsored trials . Present Chair of the Malaysian Dialysis and Transplant Registry. and a member of the Board of Directors for the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia. Current Honorary Secretary for the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology, member of the International Home Dialysis Consortium and Executive Committee member of the Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) . A Past President of the Malaysian Society of Nephrology, past Chair for the International Society of Nephrology Oceania and Southeast Asian Regional Board .
