Dr. Rouvick Gama

I am a trainee nephrologist with a research focus on kidney function assessment and health inequalities, currently undertaking a PhD at King’s College London funded by Kidney Research UK. My work aims to improve the accuracy and equity of kidney function estimation, particularly in ethnically diverse populations. I am the Principal Investigator on multiple studies including AIM CKD UK, RAPID and DYNAMO KIDNEY. Additionally, I am involved in other projects including assessing kidney failure risk prediction in diverse populations and implementation of health prevention in primary care using point-of-care testing to support efficient pharmacological optimisation. I recently completed an editorial fellowship for the Clinical Kidney Journal and I am an active member of the UK Kidney Association GFR Working Group, UK Renal Health Data Research Network and European Kidney Function Consortium. I’m passionate about using data and technology to address disparities in kidney disease care, and I welcome connections across academic nephrology, digital health and innovation in kidney health research.
