Prof. Shaukat Rashid

I completed my medical school education at Rawalpindi Medical University Pakistan. My Internal Medicine internship and residency were at Easton Hospital, Easton PA. My fellowship training was in Nephrology at Wayne State University, Detroit MI. I did my executive MBA at BGSU, Bowling Green OH. My passion for health care has been to make a difference in our patients’ lives at whatever level we can. It may be providing consultation for complex kidney problems, finding diagnostic and treatment pathways, or a simple bedside conversation with a patient or his/her family to help them understand their healthcare issues and educate them. My interactions with my patients are the biggest asset of my professional career. I have been in clinical practice, teaching, administrative, and leadership roles in various capacities throughout my professional career since 1990. I serve as a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of The Toledo Clinic Inc. I am a Medical Director at Davita Regional Dialysis Center, Fremont OH, and USRC Dialysis Center in Bowling Green OH. I am also serving as president of the vascular center for dialysis patients’ access care. I served as President of Kairos LLC (a commercial Real Estate holding company). To encourage entrepreneurship in my country of origin, Pakistan, I have started a company Nexos with local young engineers manufacturing data cables for smartphones. This has not only given entrepreneurship opportunities to young people but also has created multiple jobs (on a micro-scale). I enjoy playing cricket as a sport and have been involved with the local community to organize multiple cricket tournaments.
