Dr. Orhan Efe
I am a nephrologist specializing in vasculitides and glomerular diseases, serving as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a clinician-investigator at Massachusetts General Hospital. My work focuses on managing complex immune-mediated kidney diseases and improving diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. My research has identified underrecognized complications, including persistent B-cell depletion after rituximab and protracted COVID-19 in immunosuppressed patients, as well as contributed to the development of novel therapeutic approaches, including regulatory T-cell–targeted strategies. I am actively involved in clinical trials, contributing to the development and evaluation of emerging therapies in glomerular diseases. I am actively involved in medical education and leadership as a co-director of a glomerular disease conference and Deputy Editor of the Rare Kidney Diseases Journal, with a focus on advancing clinical care and innovation in glomerular diseases and nephrology.
