Dr. Muhammad Omar S.
I am a Nephrologist at Sanford Bismarck Medical Center and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences, where I combine my passion for patient care, medical education, and healthcare leadership. As a Certified Hypertension Specialist (CHS) and Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and American Society of Nephrology (FASN), I bring a strong focus on evidence-based medicine, quality improvement, and advancing standards of care in nephrology and hypertension management. I am also the Founder of Qasim Saleem Memorial Hospital in Phalia, Pakistan, established in memory of my late brother. Through this initiative, I have helped shape a community-centered healthcare model focused on dialysis services, hospital accreditation, and accessible care for underserved populations. I am deeply committed to teaching and mentorship: from training Family Medicine residents and medical students in North Dakota, to building sustainable training frameworks in Pakistan. My academic interests include chronic kidney disease biomarkers, hypertension, and nephrology education. Above all, my work is guided by a simple principle: caring with compassion and kindness, whether at the bedside, in the classroom, or at the systems level.
