Dr. Luísa Lobato

I graduated in Medicine and got my PhD in Medical Sciences at Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar | ICBAS, University of Porto. Currently, I am the Director of the Department of Nephrology at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Santo António, Porto, bringing my expertise to the forefront of patient care. In addition, I am vice-coordinator of the Unit for Multidisciplinary Research in Biomedicine (UMIB) and Full Invited Professor of Nephrology at ICBAS. My preferences are Clinical Nephrology, genetics and epidemiology of chronic kidney diseases, fostering expertise research into systemic amyloidosis, particularly the hereditary forms associated with transthyretin and fibrinogen. I’m enthusiastic about ATTR amyloidosis treatment and the connection kidney-heart.
