Dr. Leah Krischock
My primary goal as a clinical nephrologist is to foster meaningful connection with and positive impact on the lives of my patients, borne out through senior medical experience in Australia and the UK. In my education roles I strive to give back by empowering future generations of doctors and paediatricians to understand their agency and purpose. I have an interest in Quality Improvement and in leveraging technologies to make safe, high-quality care the default option. My clinical research interests are in improving adherence and quality of life in paediatric and adolescent populations. My personal motto is to “Have courage and be kind” and my favourite aphorism is “What we permit we promote.” I completed my undergraduate medical degree at the Univeristy of Adelaide. I worked as an intern at Flinders Medical Centre and as a paediatric resident at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, South Australia. I moved to the UK in 2000 for overseas experience, training in paediatrics in the South-East of England, and completing sub-sepciality training in Paediatric Nephrology at Evelina Children’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK. I worked for three years as a consultant paediatric nehrologist in Glasgow, Scotland, before returning to Australia and taking up my currrent clinical role at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
