Prof. Ashley Hong

I am a Consultant Nephrologist and General Physician at University Hospital Crosshouse, dedicated to advancing renal care through clinical leadership and technical innovation. I focus on complex renal medicine, including immune-mediated disease and transplantation, and I’m dedicated to delivering high standards of comprehensive care in both inpatient and specialised outpatient settings. Currently, I am spearheading the development of a nephrology-led TCVC service at Crosshouse to enhance regional vascular access resilience. This initiative is supported by my ongoing PGCert in Interventional Nephrology at Newcastle University. Beyond clinical practice, I am passionate about advancing medical education, maintaining high standards of medical practice, and shaping the future of the medical profession, and I regularly serve as an examiner for RCPSG PACES. I was honoured to be nominated for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP) in 2026, reflecting my commitment to the field. I am always eager to connect with peers focused on service improvement, interventional nephrology, and the future of medical training.
