Prof. Subashri Mohanasundaram

Dual Gold Medalist in both DM and DNB Nephrology, I am a passionate and patient-centered nephrologist currently practising at Prashanth Superspeciality Hospital, Chennai. My clinical focus lies in managing complex renal disorders, kidney transplantation, and promoting early intervention in chronic kidney disease. With a strong academic foundation and national-level accolades – including felicitations from the Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and multiple gold medals- I have also embraced roles in medical education, clinical research, and healthcare communication. My work spans over 20+ peer-reviewed publications, visual abstracts, and national book chapters on topics ranging from glomerular diseases to toxicology and transplant immunology. I serve as a Visual Abstract Editor and Peer Reviewer for key nephrology journals and contribute regularly to global nephrology platforms like Renal Fellow Network, KI Reports, and GlomCon. I currently serve as the Editor of the Prashanth Hospitals Newsletter, and am part of the editorial board of Kidney Kolumns (ISN). I am also involved in organizing academic CMEs, mentoring young nephrologists, and contributing to professional societies such as the Indian Society of Nephrology, Women in Nephrology, and the International Society of Nephrology. Always eager to engage in multidisciplinary collaborations, leverage digital health for nephrology education, and advocate for holistic, compassionate kidney care.
