Dr. Keira Dempsey

I am a Global Health and Biology major at the University of Maryland with interests in bioethics, ethical surgical mission research, and public health advocacy. My academic training is complemented by hands-on leadership in community service, global health initiatives, and STEM mentorship. I am currently seeking a position as a medical assistant or medical scribe to gain more hands-on clinical experience and deepen my understanding of patient care, ideally in a hospital setting. My interests center on improving healthcare outcomes in resource-limited settings through ethical research, sustainable interventions, and education. I have experience in laboratory research, data analysis, public speaking, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Highlights of my experience include earning a U.S. patent, receiving Dean’s List honors, and extensive volunteer engagement in STEM education and community health initiatives. I am motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to advancing equitable healthcare and public health outcomes.
