Currently I work as internist at Martini Hospital, Groningen. I completed training as nephrologist at the Radboudumc, Nijmegen. Before, I worked as internist at Isala, Zwolle. There I delivered outpatient care for a wide variety of health issues within internal medicine, with specific attention to nephrology and endocrinology. Earlier, at UMCG, I obtained the PhD degree on my thesis on the role of the hormone Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 in the context of chronic kidney disease: in predialysis, dialysis and post-transplantation renal patients. Bone mineral metabolism, electrolyte balance, dialysis and glomerular diseases remain current fields of attention. Moreover, I aim to deliver outstanding care to outpatients with diseases in the endocrinology and general Internal Medicine field. Publications are listed under publications.
