Dr. Amanda Siriwardana

Dr Amanda Siriwardana is a Staff Specialist Nephrologist and Deputy Director of Kidney Trials at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. She graduated with a 1st Class Honours in Medicine from University of New South Wales, completed a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of New South Wales, and a PhD from the University of Sydney. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She currently works as a Nephrologist at Royal North Shore Hospital, Research Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Sydney.Dr Siriwardana’s research interests are in strategies to enhance the care of older adults with chronic kidney disease and to improve their clinical outcomes. She serves as the National Scientific Lead for the Elderly Advanced CKD Program, a multi-centre collaborative research initiative investigating older people with kidney failure. Dr Siriwardana is also actively involved in clinical trial and observational cohort analyses at the George Institute for Global Health, aiming to improve outcomes and patient-centred care for older adults with kidney disease.Over the past 5 years, Dr Siriwardana has secured grants and scholarships for kidney disease research. She has also served as principal or associate investigator for more than 15 multicentre landmark clinical trials and cohort studies. She is a prominent member of several research committees at the University of Sydney and national nephrology societies. With her interests and collaborations, Dr Siriwardana continues to lead important and impactful kidney disease research.
