I’m an MRC Senior Clinical Fellow and lead a research group focused on discovering new treatments for ageing and damaged kidneys. Funded by the MRC, The Wellcome Trust and Kidney Research UK our work aims to define the role of senescence in kidney ageing and disease and its potential as a therapeutic target. By combining in vitro and in vivo models of experimental renal injury, biopsy cohorts of human kidney disease and the latest advances in spatial multi-omic analysis we are transforming our understanding of the role of senescent cell signalling in the renal fibrotic niche.
