Key skills * Properly identify patient and choose the best method of drawing blood. * Select gauze of needles, prepare veins and draw the blood through venipuncture and micro collection. * Collect blood samples, label vials and prepare specimens for transport * Maintain record of patient names and report diagnostic findings to phsician and other practioners * Keep phlebotomy station organized and sanitized as per guidelines. * Instruct patient and administer glucose solution for OGTT. * Knowledge of age specific guidelines for phlebotomy procedure. * Good communication knowledge and interpersonal skill. * Ability to work with diverse population * Familiar with medical terminology, First Aid and safety. * Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Infection control and specimen processing. * Verbal and written communication skill. * Basic computer knowledge.
