Dr. Randall Jenkins

I am a pediatric nephrologist and researcher dedicated to uncovering the harmful effects of plastics and plastic additives on human health. After a fulfilling career in clinical practice, I have transitioned to focus primarily on plastics research, driven by a discovery that changed the trajectory of my work. My interest in plastics was sparked when I identified that DEHP, a common medical plastic additive, was causing high blood pressure in premature infants. This finding not only illuminated a significant risk for vulnerable populations but also opened the door to uncovering even more alarming impacts of DEHP. Research has shown that DEHP affects much more than salt retention. It has been linked to disruptions in gender-related play behaviors, thyroid hormone imbalances, altered brain activity, and other health concerns. I believe these findings represent just the „tip of the iceberg” and underscore the urgent need for further research into the safety of plastics and their additives. As I continue to explore these critical issues, my mission is to raise awareness and advocate for safer, healthier solutions for children and future generations
